Process Cutting Tool

What's drilling?
There are two methods of drilling, one method being that the work is rotated and the other being that the tool is rotated. Drilling can be carried out on a lathe. a milling machine or a machine specifically for drilling.
Unlike turning' and milling where you can actually see where the machining is being conducted. drilling you can not see the cutting edge as it machines. Due to this factor drilling is said to be one of the most difficult forms of machining. Additional problems arise as the chips developed need to be removed through the flute, and due to the geometry of a drill it does lack in rigidity.

What's gear cutting?
Gear cutting is a proces in which a gear is machined or generated into a workpiece. The gear is generated due to the reIative motion of the cutting tool with the workpiece: Gear cutting is performed on a special gear cutting machine with the use of a gear-cutting tool.
Gear cutting machines vary depending on the kind of a gear being machined and gear cutting method being employed. For example gear-cutting machines include gear hobbing machines. gear shaping machines and. gear cutting machines for bevel gears.

What's milling?
" 'Milling isopposite to that of turning, When milling the workpiece-is statlonary-anc " the tool is rotated. As the tool rotates one or more of the cutting edges engages with the workpiece and removes material. Therefore due to the action of the cutting edges coming into and
out of contact with the workpiece the machining is interrupted machining". As the cutting edges engage and disengage with the workpiece the cutting edges are subjected to severe thermal shock. This is due to the rapid temperatures , increase due to friction during the
cut and rapid cooling as this cutting edge disengages from the workpiece.
Recent years have seen a large step forward in the technologies revolving: around the manufacturing
of workpiece materials and the development of new workpiece . materials, Therefore, to enable and achieve high-efficiency machining.cutting tool manufacturers strive to improve and develop tool materials and cutting edge geometries.

What's turning?
Turning is machining that is generally conducted on a lathe. To make it easier to comprehend turning.
imagine the machining a baseball for example. The workpiece is held by both ends and rotated. Then a tool on a tool post* or, if manual, held by hand is moved into the workpiece to carry out the machining. Lathes are the most commonly used type of machine. Tools used for external turning are called tool holders. There are brazed tool holders':' and indexable tool holders". Recently, indexable tool holder's account for more than 90 percent of the total tool holders used. Turning operations include threading, grooving" and cutting off". as well as copying. Note however that drilling on a lathe can also be conducted.
