History:Workpiece material and cutting tool

The first tools that were used were simply natural sticks and stones. As lime went by it was realized that if these sticks and stones were broken (It shaped then they become even more effective as a tool.As the workpiece to be cut became harder it became necessary to find a cutting tool that was harder as well. This led the way to changing from using stone as a cutting tool to the use of bronze and iron as a tool. The history of workpiece material and the cutting tool is this repetition. as a harder workpiece was found then a harder material for a cutting tool became necessary,

History of Cutting Tool

The first metals used as cutting tools were copper and gold. However, it was only after inventing a technique of obtaining metal from ore using heat and a technique for refining melted copper that people actually started to use metals for cutting tools in the true sense. However, while copper was melted at low temperatures and easy to shape, it had a problem of being too soft To compensate for this disadvantage. an alloy of tin and copper, bronze was developed. Bronze. with 'he advantage of being harder than copper. became widely used as a cutting tool. After a while- the refining process for iron was developed, and then there was a swift and rapid change. from the use bronze over to the use of iron as a cutting tool.
